Με αφορμή επίκαιρο τίτλο της εφημερίδας “The Telegraph”, οι παρακάτω λέξεις για σήμερα:

• surrender: παραδίδομαι, παράδοση

Η παράδοση μετά από μία μάχη που χάνεται κι όχι η παράδοση του μαθήματος ή ενός δέματος.

ρήμα και ουσιαστικό, ομαλό ρήμα (surrender, surrendered, surrendered και surrendering).

• brand: ονομάζω, είδος

Ομαλό ρήμα και ουσιαστικό.

• impasse: αδιέξοδο

Μόνο ουσιαστικό.

Για μία διαπραγμάτευση, ιδέα, κατάσταση, φάση, απόπειρα, διαμάχη, σχέση, για ένα εγχείρημα.

Αν πρόκειται για δρόμο θα το πούμε dead end.
